Band information
Beyond Terror Beyond Grace is a death/grind unit from the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. The band formed in August 2004 playing grind and hardcore covers and then progressed to originals inspired by the likes of Napalm Death and Nasum. After Ben briefly left then rejoined in early 2005, BTBG recorded a four track demo and played live for the first time in June 2005.
The demo was then remastered and re-issued as an EP by Grindhead Records. In early 2006 Beyond Terror Beyond Grace supported Behemoth and appeared at Metalstock before supporting Skinless in late 2006. During 2007 the band recorded its debut album that was released late in the year and supported The Black Dahlia Murder and Cephalic Carnage. After playing Metalstock again with Kataklysm, in late August 2008 Beyond Terror Beyond Grace played three shows in New Zealand. In October supported Carcass and Pig Destroyer as well as opening for The Red Shore and Grave. In early 2009, BTBG then began recording their second album. In December they supported Brutal Truth.
Our Ashes Build Mountains features guest appearances by members of Psycroptic, Ruins, The Amenta and Gallows for Grace and was released in February 2010 in time for a tour with New Zealand death metal band Ulcerate.
In March 2010 Bart and Ben abruptly left the band. BTBG seemed to be in limbo for a short time, but announced a new line-up featuring Scott Heldorf and Blake Simpson in May. In July the band heads to Europe for shows with Cattle Decapitation and the Obscene Extreme Festival in Czech Republic.
