Band information
Asphyxia was an Adelaide death metal band, originally conceived in early 2005 by Tom Brown and Rohan Parkhill when they were just 13 years old however the full line-up wasn't complete until Marko Gal joined in late 2006. Picking up a grant from the South Australian Youth Arts Board, Asphyxia began recording a full length debut in July 2007 but before it was released Parkhill was replaced by Brody Green. The self-titled album followed soon after. Green and Zach Taylor left the band in December 2008 and with Julian Marchioto and Liam Weedall aboard they opened for Whitechapel and Psycroptic in early 2009. Marko Gal then departed in late April and by the end of the year they were done.
