Avrigus was conceived in the early 90s by Simon Gruer but it wasn't until he was introduced to Judy Chiara by one of his [[Cruciform]] bandmates that the idea flowered; after '''Cruciform''' split Avrigus became a reality and the duo demoed two tracks and in 1998 Warhead Records released the debut EP "The Final Wish". Chiara also recorded some backing vocals on [[Elysium]]'s album ''Dreamscapes''.

The band completed their full length album in early 2000 but Warhead had folded so Chiara shopped the recording throughout Europe and Dutch label Hammerhead offered to release it.
