Band Information

Formed by Hawkins in 2004, Grotesque is a Perth band that plays intense and technical brutal death metal, along the lines of Suffocation and Decrepit Birth. By the end of 2005 the line-up was complete and before long Grotesque had major opening spots on tours by Nile, Dismember, Psycroptic and Blood Duster during 2006. Early in 2007 they then supported Suffocation before going on to open for Nile and Decapitated while completing work on their debut album, Museum of Human Disease. After appearing on the Festival of the Dead bill, the band was forced to withdraw from the east coast shows.

The album was released in November 2007. Following that release, bassist Simon Muller departed and vocalist Whitfield left the band and is now with Entrails Eradicated. Daniel Coombs (ex-The Furor, Daemon Foetal Harvest, several others) and Brad Travaskis (Avantgard) have since joined Grotesque and an EP was released in 2010.
