Mass Confusion was an early Melbourne thrash metal band, one of the first bands from that city to try their hand at the dominant new form of extreme music from that time. After a string of demos, an album appeared in 1990. Mass Confusion existed at least until 1992, with Gresik also playing for Hobbs' Angel of Death when the need arose. He later went on to join Bestial Warlust and Deströyer 666.
Thrash band originally formed under the name Whispering Death in Melbourne in 1985. A year later the name was changed to Mass Confusion. With two demos in 1988, the album Confusion Intrusion was released in 1990. Further music was recorded, appearing as a demo in 1993 but the band broke up that year. Jamie Morse was also in Damnatory and Phil Gresik recorded and toured with Hobbs Angel of Death. Gresik went on to join Bestial Warlust and Deströyer 666. Phillips played in bands like Captain Trips, Tyrus and Depression and is now with Vulvagun. Mass Confusion reformed without Morse for a one-off performance in 2017.
