Band Information
Aversions Crown is a technical deathcore band from Brisbane, formed in 2009 by Chris Cougan, Joshua Taafe, Mitchell Fitzpatrick, Jayden Mason and Kevin Butler, with Fitzpatrick taking on bass when Taafe departed. A self-titled EP followed soon after. Servitude appeared in 2011 with Colin Jeffs taking over the vocal role. Fitzpatrick would depart soon after and Steve Noad replaced him. Mick Jeffrey joined as a third guitarist and Aversions Crown toured nationally in 2013 with Thy Art is Murder and Cattle Decapitation, followed by the Australian leg of Vans Warped. Kevin Butler left at this point and was replaced by Hayden Foot; Jay Coombs took over on bass from Noad.
Tyrant was released in late 2014 and Jeffs departed soon after, with Mark Poida named as his replacement in January.
During 2012 the band featured at most dates on the Bastardfest tour. In mid-2013 they toured nationally with Thy Art is Murder, Cattle Decapitation and King Parrot. A tour with Oceano and Feed Her to the Sharks followed in October and the band toured Europe with Thy Art is Murder in January 2014. An Australian tour with The Acacia Strain followed later that year, after which the band signed a deal with Nuclear Blast. They then toured with DevilDriver and Whitechapel before releasing Tyrant at the end of 2014. In early 2015 Colin Jeffs left the band right before a European tour and was replaced by Mark Poida. Aversions Crown toured Europe then returned to Australia for shows with Psycroptic and Goatwhore, followed by a national tour with Attila. Mid-year they toured through Europe and Australia with Thy Art is Murder and Feed Her to the Sharks.
