Originally a blast band, ''They Did Unspeakable Things'' was recorded using a drum machine but Matt Giles joined soon after. They opened for '''Dying Fetus''' and '''Putrid Pile''' in May 2013. Following that, Jake Sproule of [[The Seraphim Veil]] joined as the band's drummer and AJ departed, leaving Whoretopsy as a four piece until the following year when Chris Paras and Brenton Marsh (also of [[The Seraphim Veil]]) were added to the line-up. By now too Whoretopsy had moved away from the blast style, becoming a slightly more technical, thrashy death metal band.
