As Silence Breaks | As Silence Breaks was a Sydney-based death/metalcore band, formed in 2005. After several years of solid gigging including two consecutive tours with the Taste of Chaos festival, the band released a self-titled album in early 2010. Shows with [[The Red Shore]] and '''Whitechapel''' followed. Early in 2011 they toured with '''Darkest Hour''' and '''Carnifex''' and mid-year opened the '''Periphery/TesseracT''' double bill in Sydney, releasing a new EP at the same time. As Silence Breaks toured through the US late in 2011, recording in San Diego while there. On returning to Australia they opened for '''Arch Enemy''' in Sydney. Heavy local and national gigging followed including shows with '''Mnemic''' and '''Sybreed''' and the band appeared on the [[Bastardfest]] bill in late 2012. In early 2013 the band opened a Boys of Summer tour show (featuring '''Deez Nuts''', '''Comeback Kid''' and '''Hand of Mercy''') in Canberra.
