Band information
White Widdow is a melodic hard rock band formed in early 2008 by guitarist Enzo Almanzi from Van Halen tribute band X-Halen with vocalist Julez Mephisto and bassist Trent "Trixxi" Wilson from The Deadthings. The line up was completed with two time ARIA nominee Xavier Millis on keyboards (brother of vocalist Julez Mephisto) and drummer Jim Naish also from X-Halen. White Widdow play a melodic, arena style of hard rock reminiscent of Australian AOR band Roxus and Scandinavian AOR bands such as Treat, that fuses classic keyboard driven AOR with the pop-metal edge of artists such as Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and Danger Danger.
White Widdow launched themselves onto Australia's live scene May 2008 in Melbourne at St Kilda's Esplanade Hotel and have played steadily since both in Melbourne and interstate alongside bands such as LORD, The Deadthings, Catwitch, Spitfire Rain, Teargas and Nobody's Fool among others. A Digital EP for free download was made available in July 2009 which received a stellar review in Europe's Powerplay rock magazine. In November 2009 White Widdow opened for Hollywood glam band Pretty Boy Floyd and in December 2009 opened for Croatian all female rock band Angels on their respective Australian Tours.
In April 2010 White Widdow signed a worldwide deal with german based record label AOR Heaven, a label that includes artists such as TNT, Fair Warning, FM, Stage Dolls and Bad Habit. The self titled debut album will be released later in 2010 and will be mixed and mastered by Chris Laney (Europe/Crazy Lixx/Crash Diet) at Polar studios in Sweden.
