Band information
Art:In:Exile plays a blend of melodic death and dark Gothic metal. The band was formed in Adelaide in 2002 by former Embryonic Soul singer Bulian and bassist Sellick. Redmond from Bulian’s other band ...Of the Human Condition joined as a guitarist shortly after, along with McLeay. Gol from Juggermath and Rocco DeMaria of Omnium provided keys and guitars at various times but eventually Robertson joined and Redmond switched to keys. After recording an EP in early 2006, the band played live briefly before Sellick left in early 2007. She was replaced by Leni Benton in mid-2007 and Rocco rejoined on guitar in ealry 2008, allowing Bulian to concentrate solely on vocals.
In June 2008, the debut EP was re-released by Casket Music. Work began on the full-length Aeon Somnia during 2009 and it was released in November. Benton took an enforced break from the band for some time, with her position being handled by Bad Blood & Broken Bones/Virgin Black member Matti Phillips.
