Band information

Aeon of Horus was a technical and progressive death metal band from Canberra. The group was formed in 2006 with Andy Annand coming from Darkim and Templestowe and Barry Feeney and Ben Hocking formerly of the death-grind band Shigella. An EP surfaced in mid-2007.

In November 2008 the album The Embodiment of Darkness and Light was released and in December the band supported Psycroptic on part of a national tour. Aeon of Horus opened for Satyricon in Melbourne in March 2009. After appearing at Progfest shows in Sydney and Canberra during May, it was announced in July than Barry Feeney had departed. He joined Ouroboros in 2012. The band announced former Templestowe guitarist Pete Meere as Feeney's replacement in September 2010; Scott Carter replaced Chris Pratt at the same time. During 2011, the band released the Exile EP that featured re-worked tracks from the previous album as a preface to a new album mooted for 2012. In the meantime, Hocking was recruited into The Levitation Hex. The band appeared at Bastardfest in Canberra late in 2012; in October 2013 they toured nationally with The Schoenberg Automaton and A Million Dead Birds Laughing. After releasing Existence in 2014, the band split.
