Relentless and mayhemic death metal band from Adelaide. Oni was formed by Don Taylor of Martire and Slaughter Thou, Pahl Hodgson and Jason Van den Driesen were with Deluge and Matt Butt was ex-StarGazer.
A split with Jesus Anal Penetration was released in 2001, after which Van den Driesen left the band. Oni appeared at the Bloodlust Festival in 2002 and again in 2003, during which Butt played half a set filling in for Incantation's drummer who had been injured the night before in a car accident. Shortly after this, Taylor decided to quit the band and formed Tzun Tzu and Hodgson and Butt formed Beyond Mortal Dreams.
