Band information
Automation was a Sydney death metal band formed in mid 1997 by one-time Neophobia drummer Goode and three quarters of the former Chaotic Realm/Impaludism line up. With clever lyrical sense and excellent songs, Automation made the sort of noise thrown up by the darkest extremities of Florida, but with a surprising amount of originality and diversity, which gave them a unique style. Automation quickly developed a solid following in Sydney due to the intensity and consistency of live performances, backed up by the excellent "My Gutter Child" EP release of mid-1999.
In 2000, Dickson and Neville both left Automation. Syphilis guitarist Pete Peric and former Deadspawn bassist Bob Latsombath joined the band but nothing came of this formation and Automation disappeared from the scene. Peric, Goode and Kordek all eventually joined Deadspawn before forming the original Infernal Method line up. Kordek later joined Daysend, Peric and Goode went on to various bands including Dungeon (briefly) and Killrazer. Brad Dickson joined Darker Half in mid-2009.
