In November 2008 the album ''The Embodiment of Darkness and Light'' was released and in December the band supported [[Psycroptic]] on part of their national tour. The album received consistently strong reviews and Aeon of Horus opened for '''Satyricon''' in Melbourne in March 2009. The album received consistently strong reviews and Aeon of Horus opened for Satyricon in Melbourne in March 2009. After appearing at Progfest shows in Sydney and Canberra during May, it was announced in July than Barry Feeney had departed. He joined Ouroboros in 2012. The band announced former Templestowe guitarist Pete Meere as Feeney's replacement in September 2010; Scott Carter replaced Chris Pratt at the same time.
