History

Screamfest is a metal festival that first took place over the New Year's period 2009/2010 at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. It is considered to be one of the largest metal events ever held in Australia, featuring nine international acts and ten local artists. Finnish acts Sonata Arctica and Ensiferum, Germany's Edguy, Sweden's Dark Funeral and Spawn of Possession, US bands Malevolent Creation and Cynic and Rotting Christ from Greece appeared, with Malevolent Creation replacing original Day One headliners Destruction. The event organisers Just Say Rock Productions have already announced plans for another Screamfest to be held on New Year's Eve 2010.
