Band members
Desecrator is a Melbourne thrash band, formed in 2008 by one-time Catwitch guitarist Riley Strong. After an initial demo, Luke Anticevic was added as second guitarist and the band released Live til Death in 2011, a recording from a show at the Arthouse in Melbourne. The band's next recording was a 4-track vinyl EP featuring new guitarist Scott Anning. Netherealm drummer Jared Roberts and former Catwitch and The Eternal bassist Paul Tipping joined the band soon after and in 2014 Desecrator toured nationally with Havoc and King Parrot. With a heavy focus on live touring both locally and overseas, Desecrator's first studio album finally emerged in March 2017, with Tipping now replaced by Roberts' former Netherealm bandmate Gerad Biersboer.
In 2017 Anning joined Dreadnaught. Pulling double duty with his own band Harlott, Andrew Hudson joined Desecrator in 2018 after a short stint by AJ Finch and they supported Venom Inc..
Shortly after the release of Summoning in mid-2021, Desecrator announced national dates with Harlott for late in the year. These were revealed to be the band's final shows before an indefinite hiatus. Several of the dates have been postponed or moved due to COVID.
