History

Screamfest was a metal festival that took place over the New Year's period 2009/2010 at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. It is considered to be one of the largest metal events ever held in Australia, featuring nine international acts and ten local artists. Finnish acts Sonata Arctica and Ensiferum, Germany's Edguy, Sweden's Dark Funeral and Spawn of Possession, US bands Malevolent Creation and Cynic and Rotting Christ from Greece appeared, with Malevolent Creation replacing original Day One headliners Destruction. Soon after the show, event organisers Just Say Rock Productions announced plans for another Screamfest for New Year's Eve 2010, but this failed to occur.
