It is considered to be one of the largest metal events ever held in Australia, featuring 9 international acts and 10 local artists. The event organizers '''Just Say Rock Productions''' have already announced plans for another Screamfest to be held on new years eve 2010.

Finnish acts Sonata Arctica and Ensiferum, Germany's Edguy, Sweden's Dark Funeral and Spawn of Possession, US bands Malevolent Creation and Cynic and Rotting Christ from Greece appeared, with Malevolent Creation replacing original Day One headliners Destruction. Soon after the show, event organisers Just Say Rock Productions announced plans for another Screamfest for New Year's Eve 2010, but this failed to occur.
