History

Bastardfest is a travelling festival established by Soundworks Touring in 2010, with shows in Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane. In 2011, the festival's schedule was extended to every Australian capital city and also Auckland, New Zealand. The headlining acts for all shows was Psycroptic, with Blood Duster also playing all but one of them. I Exist and Claim the Throne also played several of the dates. US hardcore band Ringworm appeared at the Melbourne event. More than 70 bands played over the course of the event. The 2012 event was once again planned to include all Australian capital cities but the Darwin show was later cancelled; there was no Bastardfest shows in New Zealand this time.
